20 g butter
1 tablespoon finely chopped chives
2 teaspoons plain flour
½ cup milk
2 tablespoons grated cheddar cheese
24 oysters in half shell
1/3 cup fresh breadcrumbs
crushed rock salt for serving
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Total cooking time: 5-10 minutes
Serves 4
Heat butter in a small pan, add chopped chives, stir over medium heat 1 minute. Add flour, stir over low heat 1 minute. Add milk gradually to pan, stirring until the mixture is smooth.
Stir constantly over medium heat 1 minute or until mixture boils and thickens. Lower heat, simmer, stirring, 1 minute. Remove from heat, stir in grated cheese.
Spoon cheese sauce over oysters, sprinkle with the fresh breadcrumbs.
Place oysters on a grill tray. Cook under high heat 2 minutes. Serve with rock salt.
